Ice Cream

So, it’s Sunday night, Kim’s in Bermuda, I’m in Chicago watching that traitor Favre playing for the Vikings. It’s half time and I have this huge craving for ice cream. Now in case you didn’t know, Ben and Jerry’s Coffee Heath Bar Crunch is about the only flavor I really crave. From experience, I know that that’s one of the flavors distributed to the Jewel-Osco store about six blocks from the condo. So I bundle up (it’s cold here), and head over to the store. I go directly to the ice cream freezer and – panic -- the Ben and Jerry’s stock is seriously depleted. Not just the coffee Heath Bar crunch, but many other flavors too. I check nearly every pint figuring the one I’m looking for is somehow hidden. It isn’t.

Well, shucks, I said (or something similar). But – aha – I go to the candy aisle, find some Heath Bars, go back to the ice cream freezer, find some Haagen Dasz coffee ice cream and go happily on my way. I’m sitting here now with my bowl of “home-made” coffee Heath Bar crunch ice cream.

Yum.
