Since I got back from Chicago, we’ve been mildly busy. Let’s see, we had a totally sluggish weekend after Kim got back from Mexico. The weather was perfect for that – rainy and dreary – so we didn’t feel compelled to get out of the house. Those are the times we enjoy cooking something that takes a bit more work than what I usually do during the week. I’ve discovered that the downside to that plan, though, is that by the end of the week, the grocery stores are often out of stock on so many things. Most grocery stores aren’t open Sundays, so we really have to be flexible – and plan ahead.
Last weekend we did another wine tasting with some friends. As you’ve probably noted, wine tasting is big around here – well, drinking is big around here – especially in the winter. This was actually one of the better tastings we’ve attended – it featured a lot of big-name California wines. We went to dinner afterwards to a place called Latin which features Spanish food (sort of). Tapas and paellas were big on the menu. We had heard a lot of good things about it, but I was a bit disappointed. Maybe it was an off night – I’d probably try it again.
Sunday was a beautiful day, so we had no choice but to get outside and do something. We opted to walk to the Paget Marsh for a look-see (we’re trying to find things that visitors might be interested in). It’s a 25 acre nature preserve that supposedly is a view of the island’s interior as it appeared to the first colonists. It was mildly interesting. Took a few pictures.
We ended up going to the local nursery to check out some of the flowers and plants since we’ll probably want to add some interest to our pool area.
Kim left for Europe on Wednesday. First Amsterdam, then Florence to hook up with Michael Anne this weekend. She’ll leave Florence today and head on to Moscow, then back to Bermuda on Saturday. I, however, won’t be here since I’m on my way to Chicago this afternoon. I’m packed and ready to go and have about an hour before my taxi comes, so maybe I can get this posted before I go. Kim will join me in Chicago on the 27th and we’ll be there until April 1st.
And finally, here are a couple of shots of our now completed living room.

Cheers.
